HOUSTON, Texas — On May 2, 2026, Texas Diaper Bank participated in the 2026 Health & Wellness Summit in Houston, hosted by Emerging 100 Houston, distributing menstrual health essentials as part of our commitment to reaching individuals and communities across Texas.

The summit brought together community members for a day centered on holistic wellness — including mindfulness, live music, healthy smoothies, and health education. Texas Diaper Bank was on the ground to ensure menstrual health was part of the conversation, providing menstrual health packages directly to middle and high school girls and women in attendance.

Texas Diaper Bank also supported the Texas Federation of the People’s health summit, further strengthening our presence and partnerships across Houston’s health and wellness community.

This kind of community engagement is not new for Texas Diaper Bank. Over the years, the organization has built one of the most established menstrual health distribution and advocacy networks in the state — showing up not just during awareness moments, but consistently, across Texas communities that need it most. The Houston summits reflect that same long-standing commitment.

In 2025 alone, Texas Diaper Bank distributed 890,000 menstrual products statewide, served 8,529 individuals through direct services, reached 24,792 people through community partnerships, and provided menstrual products to 1,206 menstruators through disaster relief efforts.

This work comes ahead of Period Poverty Awareness Week, running May 11 through 17, 2026 — a national campaign created by the Alliance for Period Supplies to draw attention to the widespread impact of period poverty and to mobilize communities and policymakers around lasting solutions. According to the Alliance, two in five people who menstruate struggle to afford period products — a reality that affects individuals and families across communities throughout Texas.
